Beyond firefighting, you will participate in various emergency interventions, prevention and awareness activities, as well as civil safety operations that have a concrete impact on the daily lives of Lavalloises and Lavallois.

- Hold a diploma of vocational studies (DEP) in fire safety intervention
- Hold a college diploma (DEC) in fire safety techniques
- Possess a valid class 4A driver's license
- Possess a valid pleasure craft operator's license
- Hold an INU1 certification (Level 1 Emergency Nautical Responder), an asset

- September 29 at 9 AM (duration of about 2 hours and 30 minutes): Virtual pre-selection inventory (psychometric test + test aimed at assessing basic technical knowledge of the firefighter profession)
- Weeks of October 19: Physical aptitude test in an aquatic environment
- November 10, 11, and 12: Physical aptitude and practical and technical skills tests
- End of November – December: Selection interview
- Pre-employment verification including:

- Verification of driver's license (class 4A and 5);
- Verification of pleasure craft operator's license;
- Verification of diplomas;
- Medical examination (costs covered by the City)
- Security clearance investigation.
