At the dawn of a major transition to a level 4 service, the Laval Police Service continues to establish all the winning conditions.
The Laval Police Service has over 1,000 members, including police officers and civilian employees. These individuals are committed and dedicated to ensuring the safety of approximately 450,000 Lavallois and Lavalloises. It includes, among other things, a pre-selection inventory, an interview, a psychometric evaluation, a security clearance, a medical examination, and a comprehensive file analysis.
- Be a Canadian citizen;
- Not have been convicted, anywhere, of an act or omission that the Criminal Code describes as an offense;
- Hold a valid class 4A driver's license or be in the process of obtaining one;
- Be a graduate of the initial patrol-gendarmerie training program (PFIPG) from the École nationale de police du Québec (ÉNPQ) or have obtained an equivalency from the ÉNPQ, or be in the 3rd year of the Police Techniques program.

Choosing the Laval Police Service means:
- A permanent police officer position with a full range of benefits;
- Starting salary: $68,469.65 including a base salary of $63,752 per year and an urban and metropolitan security premium of $4,717.65
- Maximum salary on the scale (reaching the maximum step in 60 to 72 months) $113,119.05 including a base salary of $105,325 per year and an urban and metropolitan security premium of $7,794.05
- Seniority bonus of 3% of salary after 7 years of service
